I scooted down in my seat and felt the seatbelt tighten around my hips.
I leaned my head against the headrest and closed my eyes.
I could hear soft chatter all around me. I’m sure there is a man sitting behind me and to the left. His voice is deep. I heard more of what he was saying than the conversation between the two ladies sitting next to me.
Someone was laughing softly in the seats towards the front.
The engine began to whine and the increase in the RPM’s could be felt in the vibrations of my seat.
We began to roll forward. The engine sounding louder and louder while the vibrations became stronger and stronger.
And then the nose began to lift.
The next image I had was of being in the boat with dad.
“Dad, faster!”
He smiled and pushed the throttle down. The front of the boat lifted high in the air. Just like a horse on his hind feet.
“Folks this will be a quick service since our flight is only an hour and fifteen minutes. Please be ready to let the attendant know what you’d like to drink.”
My eyes flew open.
For just a moment I was spending a special time with dad
My glance went to the window and out to the clouds. I looked intently for my dad. I could imagine him sitting in his porch swing right there on top of the pillowy clouds.

Oh! Look! There he is. He waved. I waved. We both smiled and gave a slight nod.
I think to myself…wow! What a great visit I had with dad today.
