Did I Really?

I’m here at the end of my project, publishing two children’s books and I realize I’m going to need a book launch.

I started doing my budget and my  thoughts are wow, you just may not make it.

Well failure is not an option so I started checking out discount stores and cheaper venues.

It was about that time that my son told me I should start a Kickstarter campaign to find backers to help me complete the process.

WHAT?  Ask for money?  That just didn’t feel right for a few days. I got curious and looked up Kickstarter.  I found that there are tons of people looking for backers for their books.  There are many other projects out there but I was surprised at the number of book projects.

Then I thought, well what the heck, let’s see how this works.

It took  me about 3 hours to get it completely set up.  It left me feeling completely technically inept.  But it is now live.

It may not gain support but it is one more thing I’ve learned about.  And that is an accomplishment!

What are you learning today?

  1. Tina, I too am on a publishing journey and I must say it has been a truly humbling experience. Just learning the technology is the first order of business in my first project. Good luck in your endeavors and keep the faith AND KEEP WRITING!
